Late Night Zero
Nestled deep within in the quiet and cozy hills of Southwest Virginia is a monster.
A monster that has been brooding and plotting an all-out assault on the music world.
A monster known as Late Night Zero.
The fearsome foursome is comprised of The Wolfman on lead vocals/guitar, Loki on lead guitar, The Mangler on backing vocals/bass and D2 on drums. They are self-taught musicians with varying musical backgrounds but share a common love of all the things that encompass Late Night Zero; B-movies, video games, and general macabre. Late Night Zero, in its current form, has been playing shows up and down the East Coast since 2005, spreading their unique blend of music to all the unsuspecting masses. Although its roots are firmly based in Horror-Punk, "LNZ" has branched out in both style and theme to a more expandable title of "Creep Rock".
The idea of LNZ started in 2002 as a 3-piece called Ill Breed and the songs written in that time were the ground work for what was to come. Ill Breed produced a 4 song ep but, shortly after recording, found itself without a lead vocalist. Pushing on, Wolfman and Mangler continued to work on songs until, through a mutual friend, they met D2 who helped reform the band into something much more evil.
After a few practices and writing sessions the decision was made to change the name to Late Night Zero and with that, a new beast was born. LNZ released their first full length CD in 2004 which consisted of revised Ill Breed material and a few newly written tracks. The CD, entitled "Bring out your Dead," was a fond farewell to what Ill Breed was and an ushering in for Late Night Zero. After playing several successful shows LNZ began branching out to new territory. It was then that they found Loki, whose stage presence and guitar skills caught their evil eyes. They knew he would be a perfect addition both visibly and audibly to the line-up.
Since becoming the full 4-piece they have become synonymous with East Coast Horror-Punk and have been busy writing new material. Currently the band is preparing for their next full length CD, "If These Walls Could Talk, They'd Scream." The CD is set to be much more complex and will demonstrate the full complexities that make the band. They have even enlisted fellow ghoul and friend Argyle Goolsby of Blitzkid to produce the album.
As years go on the band continues to expand its horizons and refuses to give up in the face of adversity. They have been branching out of their home territory more and more each year and gaining new fans that proclaim themselves as part of the Red Undead, the street team and fan base of Late Night Zero. Painted faces, creatures of the night, and mindless maniacs are commonplace at an LNZ show. There is something for everyone and the audience is always entertained, regardless of their musical preferences.
A diverse set list is always in store for any who dares to take part in a Late Night Zero show. Musically one can expect a barrage of punk, metal, even Doo-wop style tunes while being visually entertained by the onstage intensity of each member. The energy levels are always high and the crowds are expected to participate in all the mayhem by dancing and singing along with the infectious melodies.
